South Australia Police (SAPOL) is ready to support a safe and enjoyable Royal Adelaide Show, with a highly visible policing presence planned in and around the Adelaide Showground.
The Show will run from Saturday 5 September to Sunday 13 September 2026, with total attendance across the nine days estimated to reach up to 400,000 people.
Police will conduct high-visibility patrols and specialist functions inside and outside the Showground, with foot and bicycle patrols, Mounted Operations Unit members and other specialist areas supporting the operation as required.
Police Commander for the event, Eastern District Superintendent Scott Denny, said public safety and positive engagement with showgoers would remain the priority.
"With hundreds of thousands of people expected across the nine days, we want everyone to plan ahead, look out for each other and enjoy the Show safely."
"Families should consider using the Show's 'If I'm lost' wristbands and record a parent or guardian phone number, particularly for younger children."
"Taking a quick photo of what your child is wearing when you arrive can also assist police and Show staff if you become separated."
Showgoers are also encouraged to keep phones, wallets, bags and purchases secure and report suspicious or unsafe behaviour to police or Show security.
The Show Police Station will operate from the north-western grandstand area and can assist with reports, requests for police assistance and missing or found persons.
Traffic management arrangements will operate around the Showground. Patrons are encouraged to plan their journey, allow extra time and consider public transport, taxi or rideshare options.
SAPOL's corporate display will operate in the Jubilee Pavilion daily from 9am to 8pm.
The display will promote safer communities, recruitment, road safety and cybercrime scam awareness, with representatives from Talent Acquisition, Traffic Support Branch, Cybercrime and Protective Security Services Branch and Public Engagement Unit.
Superintendent Denny encourages showgoers to be respectful of other attendees, consume alcohol responsibly and plan a safe trip home.
"The Show is a time for celebration and we want everyone to enjoy it safely.
"If you are drinking, don't drive - use public transport, taxi or rideshare, or arrange a designated driver.
"If you see something concerning, report it to police or Show staff."
