Police responding to fatal motorcycle crash at Ravensbourne 

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash at Ravensbourne, (between Esk and Hampton) this morning.

Initial information indicates around 8.30am, a 74-year-old man was riding a white, Triumph Thunderbird motorcycle east along Esk Hampton Road when he struck an embankment and was thrown from the bike.

One of the man's riding companions rendered immediate assistance and contacted police and emergency services, however the man died of his injuries at the scene.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses, including those with dashcam vision or CCTV of the rider in the lead up to and moments before the crash to come forward.
