Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Mount Isa 14 August

Police are appealing for a driver to come forward after a pedestrian died in Mount Isa overnight.

At 9.55pm a car was headed south on Camooweal Street when it collided with two pedestrians.

A 27-year-old Northern Territory man died at the scene. The second pedestrian, a 29-year-old Northern Territory man, remains in the Mount Isa Hospital in a critical condition.

The car left the scene and police are appealing for the driver to contact police.

At 12.30am police seized the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident at a Townview address.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant vision to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
