Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Kolonga

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal single vehicle traffic crash at Kolonga, west of Bundaberg this morning, January 21.

Initial investigations indicate around 11:45am, a Mitsubishi Triton was travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway near the Kolan River before it lost control and gone off the side of the Kolan River Bridge.

Emergency services were able to reach the partially submerged vehicle this afternoon and located the driver and single occupant, believed to be a 51-year-old Mount Cotton woman, who was declared deceased.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash, and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or have relevant CCTV/dashcam footage, to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
