The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a fatal two-vehicle traffic crash in Newport this morning, 4 January.
Initial investigations indicate that around 8.30am, a 2004 Honda CBR1000 motorbike and a red 2021 Haval Jolion crashed at the intersection of Ashmole Road and Eversleigh Road.
The rider of the motorbike, a 33-year-old man was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 48-year-old Rothwell woman was not physically injured.
Investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
Witnesses, particularly anyone with relevant vision of the motorbike prior to the crash, are urged to contact police.
