Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Thornlands

The Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Thornlands yesterday afternoon, 4 April.

Preliminary inquiries indicate about 6.50pm a black Honda motorbike was travelling along Boundary Road when a white Kia Cerato turned right from Affinity Way into Boundary Road before the motorbike collided with the car.

The rider, an 18-year-old Redland Bay man was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital with life threatening injuries however later passed away.

The driver of the Kia, a 24-year-old Acacia Ridge man was not physically injured.

FCU investigations are ongoing to establish if speed was a contributing factor to the crash.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have seen the Honda motorbike prior to the crash to contact police.
