Police Responding To Fatal Traffic Crash At Longreach 5 June

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash northwest of Longreach yesterday, 4 June.

Initial investigations indicate that just before 12pm, a Suzuki Jimny JJ and an Isuzu FRR truck collided on the Landsborough Highway, near Darr River Road.

The driver of the Suzuki, a man in his 20s, sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The single passenger of the Suzuki, a 40-year-old Northern Territory woman, was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital in a critical condition.

The single occupant of the Isuzu, a 37-year-old Longreach man, sustained minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash and is appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam footage or information to come forward.
