Police responding to serious traffic crash at Riverview

Police have charged a man following a serious two vehicle traffic crash that occurred in Riverview yesterday, June 13.

Initial investigations indicate shortly after 12.30pm, a blue Nissan Patrol and a maroon Holden Commodore collided at the intersection of Esther Street and Brisbane Road.

The driver and sole occupant of the Holden Commodore, a 62-year-old Collingwood Park man, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver and sole occupant of the Nissan Patrol, a 25-year-old Riverview man, was not physically injured.

Police have charged the 25-year-old man with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.

He has been granted bail and is expected to appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 26.

The Ipswich Forensic Crash Unit continues to appeal for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
