Police responding to serious traffic crash at South Brisbane

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious traffic crash between a vehicle and e-scooter in South Brisbane this morning, Monday September 5.

Preliminary information indicates around 5.30am an e-scooter was travelling west along Melbourne Street when a collision occurred with a white, 2021 Toyota Corolla sedan travelling south along Edmondstone Street.

A bystander and the driver of the vehicle rendered immediate assistance to the rider ahead of the emergency response however the rider, a 24-year-old local man sustained critical head injuries.

The driver, a 31-year-old Eight Mile Plains man was not physically injured.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the crash, or the moments leading up to it to come forward.

Police are also appealing for business holders to check and provide relevant CCTV.
