Police are investigating a serious two vehicle traffic crash that occurred at Lake Macdonald last night.
Initial investigations indicate a black station wagon and a silver Landcruiser were travelling in opposite directions along Cooroy Noosa Road when they collided head-on at around 7.15pm.
The 16-year-old female driver of the Landcruiser and a 45-year-old female passenger sustained injuries in the crash, as well as a 90-year-old woman who became entrapped.
All three were taken to hospital, the 90-year-old with critical injuries.
The 45-year-old male driver of the station wagon was also injured and transported to hospital in a stable condition.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Forensic Crash Unit.
