Code Yellow Lifted at Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals 1 May

NT Government

30 April 2026

The Code Yellow at Royal Darwin Hospital and Palmerston Regional Hospital has now been lifted.

The Code Yellow was issued in response to an increase in the number of presentations to the Emergency Department and the number of patients requiring ongoing acute care.

Due to a number of measures being implemented, demand pressures have eased and patient flow at the hospitals has improved.

We thank the community for their patience and kindness during these periods of high demand.

We would also like to thank our NT Health people for their resilience, persistence and dedication for coming to work each day, particularly when conditions are challenging.

If you are experiencing a health emergency, call Triple Zero (000) and ask for an ambulance.

The Palmerston Medicare Urgent Care Clinic provides urgent medical care for non-emergencies.

If you are unsure of how to manage your illness or injury, please see a doctor, visit [http://www.healthdirect.gov.au] or call 1800 022 222
