COMMUNITY FUN DAY AND EMERGENCY EXPO
The Carisbrook community is set to come together for an afternoon of connection, entertainment and family-friendly activities when it hosts a family fun day and the Central Goldfields Emergency Preparation Expo on Sunday 3 May.
Everyone is invited to the free event to be held from 1 to 5pm at the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve.
There will be food vans, face painting, novelty events, a rock-climbing wall, train rides, live music and sweet treats from Cold Rock Ice Cream.
One of the day's major highlights will be the Central Goldfields Emergency Preparation Expo, giving residents practical tools and advice to prepare for fire, flood, storm and other emergencies. Children will also get to see emergency services vehicles up close.
Council and Water Tech will also be present at the Expo with community members encouraged to ask any questions in relation to flood planning.

DELEDIO PAVILION
Great news for Dunolly, with Council awarding the tender for the new Deledio Recreation Reserve pavilion to MKM Building Group Pty Ltd.
The project will replace the ageing 1977 facility with a modern, accessible pavilion featuring new changerooms, amenities, social spaces and a compliant kitchen. It will also be positioned closer to the netball courts for better access.
The tender award marks a major milestone after more than two decades of community advocacy thanks to the efforts of the Deledio Pavilion Reference Group.
The project is jointly funded by the Federal Government ($1.5 million), Victorian Government ($1 million) and Council ($500,000).
Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2026.
