Police search for Shaun Sanderson after Reservoir incident

Police are currently undertaking a significant search for a man following an incident in Reservoir this morning where a man has died and a woman was seriously injured.

Emergency services were called to a property on Willoughby Street shortly after 8.20am this morning following reports of an assault with an edged weapon.

A 29-year-old man passed away at the scene while a 65-year-old woman was conveyed to hospital with serious injuries.

Police initially believed that 32-year-old Shaun Sanderson was still inside the residential property, however they have now confirmed that he has left.

The Homicide Squad will investigate the incident and an active search is underway for Sanderson.

While the exact circumstances are still to be established, police believe all parties involved were known to each other.

Sanderson is described as being about 175cm tall, medium build, of Caucasian appearance with brown hair and red facial hair.

It is not known what he was last wearing, however police have released two images of Sanderson in the hope someone can provide information on his current whereabouts.

Police ask that members of the public do not approach him and to contact triple zero (000) immediately if they sight him.

At this time police have been unable to confirm if he is armed.

Detectives are also appealing for Sanderson to come forward and make himself known to police by contacting his nearest police station.
