Police seek help to locate shady burglar in Footscray

Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify a burglar who attempted to break into a house in Footscray last week.

It is believed the burglar and another man got out of a silver Volkswagen Golf on Shepherd Street and broke into a car stealing sunglasses and other personal items just before 7am.

One of the men, wearing a high-vis top then attempted to break into a house on Shepherd Street before driving away empty handed.

Investigators believe the same men drove to Droop Street in Footscray later that morning and stole a multi-tool kit from a car.

It is believed they also attempted to steal a car in Lindenow Street in Maidstone the same morning.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of two men who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The first offender is perceived to be European in appearance, 190cm tall with brown eyes and brown hair. He was wearing an orange hi-vis hooded jumper, black pants and runners.

The second offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, unshaven with a solid build. He was wearing a straw hat and dark t-shirt.
