Police seek information: Hit and Run, Gaven

Police are appealing for public assistance as part of the investigation into a hit and run traffic incident at Gaven yesterday evening.

Initial investigations indicate that just after 6pm, a utility and motorcycle collided at the intersection of Smith Street and Heslop Road.

Following the collision, the driver of the white utility drove away from the crash, failing to stop and assist the motorcycle rider.

The 27-year-old male rider sustained a broken leg and other non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Investigators are appealing to the driver of the white utility – and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have CCTV/dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident – to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
