Police are appealing for public assistance as an investigation is underway after an assault on Sydney's metro in February 2026.
About 6pm on Wednesday 25 February 2026, officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports of a man was assaulted on the metro.
Police were told about 8.30am the same day a 47-year-old man was on a metro travelling between Hills Showground Station and Castle Hill Station when he was involved in an argument with an unknown second man.
A short time later, the second man assaulted the 47-year-old man before alighting at Epping Station.
As inquiries continue, officers attached to Police Transport Command, who continue the investigation, have released an image of a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of Indian/Subcontinental appearance, about 180cm tall, of slim build with black hair and black eyes.
He was last seen wearing a long sleeve light grey/blue shirt and dark pants.
