Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after a woman was assaulted near a service station on Progress Drive last night.
At around 11:45pm, a 31-year-old male allegedly assaulted a 39-year-old female. He was arrested and later charged with:
- 1 x Aggravated assault
- 1 x Armed with offensive weapon at night
He was remanded to face Darwin Local Court today.
Acting Senior Sergeant Kaye Pemberton said, "This incident is still under investigation and we are aware that a number of vehicles were driving by at the time of the assault. Anyone who witnessed the assault or who has dash-cam footage is urged to contact police on 131 444 or via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, please quote reference 9737678."
