Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to an assault in The Gap last night.
Around 9pm on Friday 17 December, a 46-year-old man intervened in a confrontation between two men and a woman on Gap Road, between Speed Street and Allchurch Street.
As a result of his intervention, the good Samaritan was seriously assaulted. A second passer-by intervened and the offenders ran away. The assault victim attended Alice Springs Hospital.
Police urge the woman who was being confronted to make herself known to Police, and request anyone with relevant information including dash-cam footage to come forward. Please contract 131444 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote reference 9877466.
