Townsville Detectives have released new CCTV footage and are continuing to appeal to the community to come forward with any information they may have in regards to a shooting incident at Purono Parkway, Yabulu on 22September 2025.
Developments in the investigation following an appeal for information on 24June 2026, indicate the unknown suspects, depicted in the CCTV footage, are linked to multiple incidents on the 22 September 2025 and 9 February 2026.
Investigations indicate about 10pm on 22 September 2025, the unknown suspects have forced entry to a property on Purono Parkway, Yabulu which resulted in shots being fired.
About 4am on 9 February, 2026 a business on Bayswater Road, Currajong was set on fire, followed by reports of gun shots being fired at a fitness facility on Woolcock Street, Mount Louisa and a vehicle being set on fire at Black River Road, Black River.
Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Inspector Dave Barron said all four incidents are linked.
"We are appealing for anyone who may have information about any of the incidents to report what they know to police or Crime Stoppers," Detective Inspector Barron said.
"Whilst we cannot release any further information at this time, we appreciate the assistance provided by the community so far and encourage anyone else who has knowledge of these offences or offenders to contact police."
"We believe these incidents are targeted and there is no ongoing threat to the general public at this time."
