Police treating fire as suspicious, Runcorn

Detectives from Upper Mt Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are appealing for information in relation to a suspicious fire at Runcorn yesterday (December 11).

Emergency services were called just after 1am to a fire at a car wrecking yard on Beenleigh Road, which destroyed or caused damage to approximately 60 vehicles.

Initial investigations indicate the fire was deliberately lit.

Investigators appeal to anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage in the area at the time, to contact police.

Investigations are ongoing.
