Police update 1: Shooting incident at Logan

Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have this afternoon charged a man following investigations into an alleged shooting on Wednesday September 7.

A 22-year-old Heritage Park man was arrested at a Waterford West address without incident.

He was been charged with one count each of attempted murder and possess shortened firearm.

He has been denied police bail and will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates court tomorrow, Friday September 10.

The 17-year-old male victim remains in a Brisbane hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Police will allege the pair are known to each other.

There is no ongoing threat to the community.

Detectives declared a crime scene at a Mark Lane, Waterford West property yesterday afternoon, where they believe the alleged shooting occurred and a vehicle of interest, a grey Subaru hatchback, was also located at Princess Street, Marsden, overnight.

Police are continuing to appeal to any witnesses - or anyone who may have captured dash-camera footage - in the vicinity of Mark Lane, Waterford West, Logan Hospital and Princess Street, Marsden between midnight and 2am on Wednesday September 7 to come forward.

Investigations continue.
