Police update 1: Shots fired investigation, Runcorn

Police are appealing for public assistance as they continue to investigate a shooting incident in Runcorn on October 24.

Shortly after 11pm, a single shot was fired into a home along Karen Court. No one was injured in the incident.

An investigation was launched as part of Operation Dagobah with detectives executing a search warrant in Beenleigh on Thursday (October 27).

Officers seized a motor vehicle suspected of being used in the offence, along with items including a firearm, a bag of new black clothing, shoes and three balaclavas.

Police are appealing to anyone to come forward, who may have seen the vehicle bearing false Queensland registration 010ZQP (pictured below) in the lead up to the incident on October 24 or in the following days.

Anyone with any information in relation to the bag of clothing is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

As part of ongoing investigations, a 19-year-old Kuraby man was arrested in Upper Mount Gravatt on Friday (October 28) and has since been charged with one count of receiving tainted property.

He is expected to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 25.

Operation Dagobah was established in June and is made up of members from the Crime and Intelligence Command's Major and Organised Crime Squads, and Brisbane and South Eastern regions, supported by specialist resources from Operations Support Command, to spearhead investigations into multiple incidents between two rival groups.

Operation Leader, Detective Senior Sergeant Adrian Sala said these acts of blatant violence place the safety of the community, and even members of the rival groups own families at risk.

"Since the commencement of Operation Dagobah we have executed 38 search warrants and arrested 24 persons on 45 charges.

"Anyone linked to these groups or involved in these crimes needs to understand they will continue to be the focus of our ongoing targeted actions and enforcement," Detective Senior Sergeant Sala said.
