Police update 3: Stolen Dog, Southport

Police have arrested a 48-year-old man wanted in relation to the alleged theft of a car and blind dog named Bowie in July.

Following the man's arrest in New South Wales, Gold Coast police issued an arrest warrant while his interstate matters were dealt with and finalised.

Upon the man's return to Queensland, property crime detectives arrested him in Southport around 6pm, December 20.

He has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and entering a dwelling and committing an indictable offence.

He is expected to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on January 11.
