The award, presented by the society's Division of Magnetic Resonance (FGMR), is given for the article 'Residue-Specific Signatures of Structural Water Identified by Dissolution Dynamic Nuclear Polarization with UV-Generated Radicals' published in the journal Angewandte Chemie, co-authored with researchers from DTU Health Tech, the University of Copenhagen, and Polarize ApS.
The prize recognizes a new technology within NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) that provides brand-new insights into protein structure and function. In the longer term, the discovery could support the design of more precise medicines and improve MRI scans for patients.
