Police Update: Assault Appeal, Manly

Police have charged a man following investigations into an assault in Manly on 9 April.

At 5.10pm, a 34-year-old man exited his Mazda at the intersection of Mountjoy Terrace and Gordon Parade and allegedly assaulted a 47-year-old male Toyota driver.

The 34-year-old returned to his vehicle and continued driving to Oakley Street, before pulling over to the side of the road where an alleged second altercation occurred.

The Mazda driver subsequently fled in his vehicle.

The Toyota driver was transported to Redlands Hospital for treatment.

On 10 April, investigators issued an appeal for information.

On 27 April, police conducted a search warrant at a Raeburn Street address in Manly and arrested a man.

The 34-year-old man was charged with one count of assaults occasioning bodily harm and is expected to appear before Wynnum Magistrates Court on 8 June.
