Police update: Building fire, Surfers Paradise

Detectives investigating a building fire that occurred in Surfers Paradise overnight have deemed the fire non-suspicious.

At 12.45am emergency services responded to a fire at Main Beach Parade on the 10th floor of the building.

A man in his 40's was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after self-evacuating via a balcony.

A number of residents were treated for smoke inhalation and no one was unaccounted for.

Police investigations have concluded. A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause.
