Police update: Impersonating public officer, Kirwan

Police have charged a woman with multiple offences including impersonating a public officer following an incident in Kirwan on February 2.

Police will allege a man and woman arrived in a stolen Lexus at a Marchwood Avenue house around 1.30pm on February 2 and gained entry by claiming to be a police officer and a public official. Once inside the pair refused to let the residents leave, then searched the home before stealing a quantity of property.

Ongoing investigations by Townsville detectives led to the arrest of a woman at an address in North Ward on February 11.

The 34-year-old Townsville woman appeared in Townsville Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with two counts of stealing and one count each of personating a public officer, deprivation of liberty, enter a dwelling with intent and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. She is due to re-appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today.

Investigations continue in relation to the man involved in the alleged incident, who remains outstanding.
