Police update: Man arrested after explosives found in CBD, South Australia

A man has been arrested after firearms and explosives were found in the CBD.

Just after 12.30pm on Wednesday 17 July, police, acting on information from the public, attended a commercial property in Grenfell Street in relation to an ongoing investigation and conducted a search.

During that search police uncovered firearms and ammunition along with some commercial explosives. Members of the Bomb Response Unit attended the scene and safely removed the explosives before taken them away to be detonated.

The male occupant, a 40-year-old from Adelaide, has been charged with a range of firearm, drugs and explosives offences.

Police would like to thank the public for their patience and advise the pedestrian paths have now reopened.
