Police Update: Man Dies After Suspected Hit-and-run Crash At Richmond

A man has died after a fail to stop crash in Sydney's north west.

About 7.45pm yesterday (Sunday 16 November 2025), emergency services responded to a report of a passing motorist locating a man unresponsive on the side of Old Kurrajong Road, Richmond.

The motorist rendered assistance to the 23-year-old man until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived; however, the man died at the scene.

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command secured a crime scene that was later examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Inquiries have established that the man was struck by an unknown vehicle that failed to stop after the crash.

Approximately an hour after the incident police attended a paddock off Kurmond Road, North Richmond, following a report of a Nissan Navara utility leaving the roadway and rolling several times.

A 41-year-old man was treated at the scene for minor injuries before being taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.

A secondary crime scene was established at the location where the vehicle will be seized for forensic examination.

Police are investigating if the incidents are linked.
