Police update: Shooting incident at Logan

Police have located a vehicle of interest and declared a crime-scene as part of the investigation into the shooting of a boy who presented to Logan Hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Around 1.10am on Wednesday September 7, a 17-year-old boy was taken to the emergency section of the hospital suffering a gunshot wound to his right chest.

The boy was then transferred to a Brisbane hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Subsequent investigations led detectives to declare a crime-scene at a residence on Mark Lane, Waterford West, yesterday afternoon where they believe the shooting may have occurred.

Further, a vehicle of interest was also located at Princess Street, Marsden, overnight.

Police are continuing to appeal to any witnesses - or anyone who may have captured dash-camera footage - in the vicinity of Mark Lane at Waterford West or Logan Hospital between midnight and 2am on Wednesday September 7, to come forward.

Investigations continue.
