Police update: Shooting incident, North Brisbane

Two people have been charged after a man was allegedly shot in a carpark on Nancy Bird Way, Brisbane Airport on May 14.

Police will allege around 6pm, a 38-year-old Corinda man was involved in an altercation with the occupants of an Audi A4.

An occupant of the vehicle, a 33-year-old Caboolture man, allegedly presented a firearm and shot the man in the shoulder before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.

The 38-year-old man was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

It will be alleged the man and occupants of the vehicle were known to each other.

Around 4.50pm yesterday, May 16, detectives from North Brisbane Criminal Investigation Branch and specialist police intercepted the man on Oakey Flat Road in Morayfield.

Police allegedly located a shortened firearm and ammunition in a parked stolen Mercedes nearby.

He was arrested at the scene without incident.

The 33-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with 11 offences, including one count each of attempted murder, going armed so as to cause fear, unlawful possession of a weapon, wilful damage, stealing, three counts of receiving tainted property and two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court on May 18.

It will be further alleged a 29-year-old Morayfield woman, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, was located and arrested a short time later on Ashbrook Drive, Morayfield.

She has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and due to appear before Caboolture Magistrates Court today, May 17.
