Detectives have charged a man with murder following the death of a man in West End on Saturday, August 2.
It will be alleged around 4:30am, emergency services were called to a Ryan Street unit complex following reports of a man being located unconscious.
Upon arrival, officers located the 50-year-old West End man unresponsive with critical injuries, and he was later declared deceased.
On Sunday night, detectives charged a 32-year-old Fortitude Valley man with one count of murder. He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
It will be further alleged that the man was known to people residing at the offence location.
Detective Inspector Wayne Francis said information provided by the community was crucial in this investigation.
"The information led to the arrest after an intensive investigation by detectives, intelligence officers, forensic police and first responders," he said.
