Post Nature Exhibition Draws Inspiration from Crows Nest Landscape and Urban Scenes

Toowoomba-based artist Natasha Wills will take viewers on a sensory exploration of local floral and micro landscapes in her exhibition, Post Nature, which is on display at the Crows Nest Gallery from May 3-28, 2023.

Natasha draws inspiration from ordinary landscapes and the collection of organic and found objects gathered while on walking explorations of Crows Nest.

Over several months, these objects and reflections, experiences and memories became a collection of paintings and multi-media works.

A series of small works on paper tells the beginning of her journey, using memory and imagination to re-envision the local landscape.

There is a contemplated progression away from the linear lines and flat micro landscapes of the painted studies, into the larger mixed media works where the suggestion of space and depth is introduced.
