Preliminary meeting at Dubbo Regional Airport

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) received preliminary advice on Thursday 1 September 2022 of higher than recommended rates of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, better known as PFAS, in areas within the Dubbo Regional Airport. Council has met with immediate neighbours on Friday 2 September to explain the findings to date and the need to access private property to undertake further testing to understand the extent of any potential PFAS contamination.

Council has informed both the EPA and Public Health of the preliminary results and will be proactively liaising with the agencies upon the completion of further testing.
