Prison staff charged in Western Australia

Financial Crimes Squad detectives have charged six current and former Hakea Prison staff members as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged breaches of non-disclosure requirements placed on them by the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC).
During the course of a joint-investigation conducted by the CCC, WA Police Force and the Department of Justice in 2020 into an alleged assault of an inmate at Hakea Prison, and associated falsified records, several current and former staff members from Hakea Prison were interviewed by CCC investigators and made subject of non-disclosure requirements – meaning they were not to disclose details of the CCC investigation to any other person.
