Property offence charges at Townsville 8 March

Police have charged a man and woman with property offences following alleged burglaries and car thefts at Rosslea and Kirwan in late February.

Police will allege the pair were involved in a burglary on February 28 around midnight, where a Mazda 6 was stolen from Tournament Drive, Rosslea and found later the same day burnt out at Hermit Park.

It will be alleged they were also responsible for the theft of a Mazda 3 during a burglary at Crocker Street, Kirwan on February 26 around 1.30pm.

A 22-year-old Rasmussen man has been charged with five counts of stealing, four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of driving without a licence.

He was arrested on March 3 and appeared in Townsville Magistrates Court on March 4. He has been remanded in custody to reappear on March 31.

A 20-year-old Kirwan woman has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of stealing. She was arrested on March 3 and appeared in Townsville Magistrates Court on March. She has been remanded in custody to reappear on March 11.
