Proposed location of northern suburbs youth hub announced

NT Government

Developing and empowering the Territory's young people is at the centre of the Northern Territory Government's youth support programs.

A new Youth Hub will be built at the old Casuarina Fire Station, providing a safe place for young people to connect with each other, engage in fun activities and access the support they need.

The new fit-for-purpose facility will be strategically located close to public transport, and easy is for young people to access.

The project will build on the successful youth hub model already operating in Palmerston which is based on partnerships between the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities, the City of Palmerston, and non-government service providers. The Palmerston Youth Centre has been embraced by the broader community and is a valued asset helping keep young people engaged and off the streets.

Funding will be provided by both the Territory and Federal Labor Governments.

Public consultation will now be undertaken during December 2022 and January 2023 to inform design of the building, and the activities and support programs.
