Public appeal after Cranbourne North aggravated home invasion

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted during an aggravated home invasion in Cranbourne North last night.

It's believed three male offenders attended a Lindenow Court address and ransacked a bedroom about 7.15pm.

A neighbour heard an occupant scream and jumped the back fence to assist when he was confronted by the offenders.

One offender struck the victim to the head with an unknown weapon before the group fled on foot.

The 41-year-old man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The occupants of the address were not injured.

Police are investigating whether the burglary was targeted, and it remains ongoing.
