Public Appeal: Wounding, Helensvale

Police have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with investigations into the shooting of a 19-year-old man at Helensvale on Monday (January 23).

Police are appealing for Daniel Todd, a 34-year-old Moorooka man, to contact them.

Further, detectives are appealing to anyone who may know of Daniel’s whereabouts, or has any information relating to the shooting, to come forward.

This photo of Daniel was taken in January 2022 and he is known to have grown a longer beard since then.

Just before 6.20pm on Monday, a 19-year-old Oxenford man arrived in a carpark on Sir John Overall Drive in a stolen white 2022 Skoda Kamiq, in convoy with a group travelling in a stolen grey 2016 Mercedes Benz.

The 19-year-old exited the Skoda and was standing in the carpark when he received a gun-shot wound to his elbow.

It will be alleged that shooter fled the scene in a White Nissan Qashqai, which has since been recovered.

The Skoda has also since been recovered, but the Mercedes remains outstanding.

The 19-year-old was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
