The McGowan Government has provided an additional $375,000 to public libraries around the State to assist community members with setting up the ServiceWA app.
The ServiceWA app is an important tool in the fight against COVID-19 and every Western Australian is encouraged to download the app and use it to check-in, show vaccination status at businesses, venues and events and to store G2G travel passes.
While use of the app is relatively simple, the set up process can involve a number of steps which some people require assistance with.
To assist WA public libraries with delivering these support services to their communities, the State Government is providing a total of $375,000 in grants that can be used for extra staffing, translation services, outreach initiatives or other resources that will assist the community to better understand and use the ServiceWA app.

As stated by Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman:
"Our local public libraries have already helped thousands of Western Australians download and use the ServiceWA app and they will now be able to help thousands more.
"It is not always easy and I acknowledge and thank the staff for their efforts.
"There are 232 local libraries across the State, so the chances are that almost no matter where you live, there will be one close by.
"Your local public library can help with much more than just ServiceWA. They are great places to access technology, learn how to use it, get access to Western Australian Government services online and get access to online content like electronic books, audiobooks, magazines, newspapers and streaming films. All for free."
