Public Transport Assaults Investigated: Images Released Under Operation Artemis

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance, as they continue to investigate several alleged sexual offences that occured across the public transport network in Sydney.

Officers attached to North West Police Transport and Public Safety Command are conducting inquiries under Operation Artemis to investigate the incidents that occurred between Strathfield and Penrith from July 2022 to December 2022.

The incidents include;

• About 1pm on Saturday 9 July 2022, a man boarded a bus at the Mt Druitt bus interchange. He allegedly exposed himself and committed a sexual act in front of two women. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, believed to be aged in his 40s, with a thin build, grey hair, and at the time was wearing dark blue track pants and matching zip-up jacket with a 'Steggles' logo on the front.

• About 10.30am on Saturday 5 November 2022, a man boarded a train at Town Hall Train Station. He allegedly touched the thigh of a woman he was sitting next to several times. He is described as being of Sub-Continental appearance, believed to aged in his 30s, with short dark hair and at the time was wearing a navy jacket, light blue shirt, dark sandals and glasses.

• About 8.25am on Thursday 17 November 2022, a man boarded a bus at Strathfield and allegedly touched the knee of girl in school uniform. The man is described as being of Caucasaian appearance, believed to aged in his 40s with brown curly hair, and at the time was wearing a light green long-sleeved shirt and cream cargo shorts.

• About 11.30am on Thursday 29 December 2022, a man allegedly approached and touched a woman's breast on a train travelling between Redfern and Penrith. The man is described as being of Asian appearance, is believed to be aged 20 to 25 years of age, of thin build, about 165cm tall, with dark hair and clean shaven. At the time he was wearing a dark green t-shirt, long blue pants and black 'Nike' shoes.

Images of four men police believe can assist with inquiries regarding these incidents have been released. Anyone with information about these incidents is urged to contact or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
