Qatar Signs its Second Country Programme Framework for 2022-2027

Abdulhadi Nasser Almarri , Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, and Hua Liu, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed Qatar's Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2022-2027 on 24 May. A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.

Qatar has been an IAEA Member State since 1976. Its 2022-2027 CPF identifies six priority areas:

  1. Human health and nutrition,
  2. Food and agriculture,
  3. Environmental protection,
  4. Water resources management,
  5. Human resources development
  6. Nuclear and radiation safety and security
