Applications are still open for a program to support Townsville's arts and cultural scene.
Round one of the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is open until Sunday 29 October 2023, and delivered in partnership between the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and Townsville City Council.
Deputy Mayor Mark Molachino encouraged the city's art practitioners to apply.
"Council has partnered with Arts Queensland for many years on this initiative to promote and develop arts, culture and heritage across Townsville," Cr Molachino said.
"These grants aren't just for painters or sculptors, they're also for anyone wanting to make a podcast, a music video, a musical, an interactive art show – the only limitation is your imagination.
"In previous rounds, grants have been awarded to projects like multimedia exhibitions to improve women's lives, ukulele workshops, music festivals, actor training sessions and more.
"The grants are about helping to bring these big, creative and engaging ideas to life to benefit the whole community."
Cr Molachino said the RADF grants are spread across two funding rounds each year for applications up to $10,000.
"We always have a good response from the community, and it proves these grants are helping to support local talent, unite the community and celebrate locals arts," he said.
"I encourage everyone with a creative idea to help promote the region's arts, culture and heritage to apply."
