Ramadan 2026: Bayside

The vibrant multicultural flavours of Ramadan return to Bayside on Saturday 14 March, when Walz Street in Rockdale is transformed into a lively global food bazaar celebrating the rich traditions of this special time.

Ramadan is a significant and sacred month for Muslims, centred on reflection, generosity, gratitude and coming together as a community. Each evening, families and friends gather to break their fast, sharing food and hospitality - values that sit at the heart of this much-loved Bayside celebration.

This family-friendly night food market invites everyone to experience the spirit of Ramadan through food, culture and connection. Visitors can sample a mouth-watering variety of cuisines from around the world, with food stalls offering everything from traditional favourites to international street food guaranteed to tempt every tastebud.

The evening is a chance for people of all backgrounds to break their fast together, enjoy great food and take part in a welcoming community atmosphere. Children's activities will also be available, making it a fun and inclusive night out for families as we celebrate shared values of inclusion, respect and belonging.

Special event clearways and road closures will be in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable event. Rockdale Station and nearby bus stops are adjacent to Walz Street, and Council encourages visitors to travel by public transport. Walz Street is also a short walk from the York Street and Market Street carparks.
