Annually, in May, Federation Council celebrates all community volunteers by inviting them together to celebrate and connect with Council and the wider volunteer community.

The celebration recognizing each volunteer for the vital role they play within the Federation community and celebrates them with a lunch, some entertainment and a guest speaker.

This year Council's Volunteer Recognition Luncheon bookings opened on Tuesday, May 11 with the Lunch scheduled for Friday, June 18 at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Resort.

In celebration of Volunteer Week, Council will welcome Chief Inspector Robert Fitzgerald of the Blacktown Area Command who will be the formal event guest speaker and will share insights into his 37 years of police service and community volunteer work.

Federation Council Mayor, Cr Pat Bourke said this year Council is looking forward to bringing everyone together, in person to celebrate.

"Our Volunteer week celebrations is about formally recognising our guests for their time as volunteers and the unwavering support they continue to give to their communities' day in and day out," he said.

"Volunteers enthusiastically give their time, energy and expertise to help out, support and make a difference in our community. They share their skills, abilities and experience and bring a fresh perspective and new ideas.

"Our communities would not be what they are today if they were not built on the backs of the hard work of our many volunteers Our Volunteers bring so much positivity to Federation Council and I look forward to celebrating their many achievements in June."
