The Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services College continues to receive new recruits, with three new police squads commencing their training last week.
Since the beginning of the year, a total of 96 recruits have graduated with an additional 126 recruits currently undergoing their training at the College.
Recruit Constable Squad 150 and Auxiliary Squads 75 and 76 are the latest recruits to join, and will be officially sworn in at two separate ceremonies this week.
Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Jamie Chalker APM said he was pleased to see such a diverse range of people continuing to join the force.
"The new recruits come from all different walks of life, some transitioning from trades such as electrical and construction and others joining us from federal government and nursing backgrounds.
"They'll need to draw from their previous experiences when dealing with members of the community, in which they will now have the privilege to serve and protect."
Next month, Recruit Constable Squad 148 and Aboriginal Community Police Officer Squad 28 will graduate in a ceremony together.
In addition to the new police squads, NT Fire and Rescue Service has also continued to expand their numbers.
It has been a big year for recruitment across our agency said Mr Chalker.
"Not only have we seen large recruitment numbers for police, our fellow frontline members from NT Fire and Rescue Service have also recruited 24 new firefighters this year. 12 of them are currently undertaking their training and will graduate in February next year."
