Red Cross climate change experts available to media re the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report to be released late today, 28 February

Australian Red Cross recognises that climate change is a humanitarian issue affecting billions of people worldwide. We work to support communities adapting to a changing climate and the detrimental health and social impacts that result from more frequent and intense disasters and crises. Red Cross has broad and deep expertise across a range of climate change issues. The following experts are available to speak to media.

Veronica Bell, Head of International Technical Services

Veronica is an expert on international approaches to early action to mitigate the impact of disasters, especially on communities most vulnerable to climate risks because of location and other factors. She can speak about preparing for and responding to increasing outbreaks of climate-sensitive diseases such as leptospirosis, dengue, typhoid and diarrhoea, and the important role of communities in climate adaptation strategies.
