Shellharbour City Council's recently renewed Reddall Reserve promenade has been recognised with an Excellence Award from the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) this month.
The stunning promenade project which transformed the deteriorating foreshore into a vibrant and accessible community space, received the Engineering Excellence Award at the IPWEA conference on 11 April.
"It's extremely pleasing and a credit to Council's Infrastructure and Projects team to see the renewed promenade recognised with this prestigious award". Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said.

The project incorporated a unique design with eco-friendly rock walls, sand areas and improved connections to the lake.
The updated promenade now offers improved seating, increased pedestrian accessibility and reduced need for maintenance, offering a fresh upgrade of the previously damaged concrete promenade and eroded foreshore.
"Having the benefits of the new promenade recognised with a State award, highlights Council's commitment to deliver high-quality, community-focused projects to help enhance the beauty, access and livability of our city," Mayor Homer said.
The final design of the promenade incorporated feedback from the community identified in the Reddall Reserve Masterplan.
The new promenade was officially opened in September 2023 and was backed by a $3 million contribution as part of the NSW Government Public Open Spaces Legacy Program.
