Referee Charged With Child Sexual Offences

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad have charged a 19-year-old man with 22 offences as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged child sexual abuse.

It will be alleged between February and April 2026, the accused sexually assaulted a victim whom he met through his role as a referee with the West Australian Basketball Association.

The 19-year-old man from South Perth has been charged with the following offences:

• Indecently Deals with a Child over 13 under 16.

• Sexually penetrated a child of or over 13 and under 16

• Aggravated Stalking

• Child under 16: Persistent Sexual Conduct With

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 13 May 2026.
