Reflections Holidays, the largest holiday park group in New South Wales, has welcomed Kiama Municipal Council's decision this afternoon to consider its proposal covering the Kiama Council's holiday parks portfolio.
Reflections, a Category One Crown Land manager which manages 40 holiday parks in NSW and cares for 47 community reserves, made an unsolicited proposal to Kiama Council on Friday, April 17. On Tuesday, April 21, Council approved a motion to consider the unsolicited proposal and is now undertaking due diligence.
Reflections CEO Nick Baker said the organisation - the only certified social enterprise holiday park group in Australia, singular in its industry for reinvesting profit back into its parks - was genuinely excited by the chance to enter a strategic partnership with Kiama council in "arguably one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the State".
"Reflections manages holiday parks in picturesque communities along the eastern seaboard and inland, and Kiama's coastline holds strategic appeal because it's close to Sydney and on the way to our stunning parks in Bermagui, Eden and Pambula," Mr Baker said.
"Reflections' mantra is that life's better outside and Kiama abounds with natural attractions. We're really excited about working with all stakeholders to lift the local tourism economy, and becoming an active and supportive part of the Kiama community."
Mr Baker said Reflections has a proven track record of strong management as a Category One Crown Land Manager and driving visitation to regions, not just in peak periods but in off peak and shoulder seasons, which he said was a "real lifeline to local tourist economies".
"A terrific example of that is the performance of our holiday park at Tumut, which we took over as manager in February, 2025. In the first 12 months of operation, we've invested $1 million upgrading accommodation and attracted 2732 people to the region, injecting an extra $423,000 into the local economy, with tourist revenue lifting 23% over six months due to what one local business has dubbed 'the Reflections Effect'."
"This is an exciting proposal that has emerged," Kiama Council Mayor Cameron McDonald said.
"Reflections Holidays has a well-established track record, reinvesting all profit straight back into the many holiday parks, unique accommodation and camping grounds they operate in coastal and inland parts of the state."
